Aspen Dental Acquires ClearChoice Management Services in Major DSO Consolidation

Aspen Dental Management has acquired ClearChoice Management Services, combining two of the largest dental support organizations in the country and creating a powerhouse across general dentistry and implant services.

ClearChoice operates approximately 100 implant centers focused on full-arch dental implant procedures—a high-value, high-margin segment that has become one of the fastest-growing categories in dental services. Aspen Dental, backed by private equity, already operates over 1,000 offices nationwide. The combination creates a vertically integrated platform spanning preventive care through complex implantology, giving Aspen unprecedented patient capture across the full spectrum of dental needs.

The strategic logic is clear: patients who enter through Aspen's general dentistry network can be referred internally to ClearChoice implant centers, keeping revenue in-house rather than leaking to outside specialists. For competing DSOs, this deal raises the bar on what "full-service" means. Independent implant practices and smaller implant-focused groups now face a competitor with national brand recognition, insurance network access, and marketing spend that dwarfs any single-location operation.

What to watch: Integration timelines, whether Aspen rebrands ClearChoice locations, and how competing DSOs respond with their own implant-focused acquisitions or partnerships.
